League of Failures

I will never understand why the league of nations was formed in the first place. I understand that it was created in order to create a balance or authority over the world but even still the guy Woodrow Wilson, the person who created the League of Nations refused to even participate in it. Not only that the countries that were a part of it were weakened greatly from WWI so they couldn't financially support themselves as well as the whole world. Not to mention the fact they could barely keep other countries from going to war with each other like with Italy and Albania in 1923.

  1. i agree with you. for once. lol jk. but i have always found it extremely arrogant that Wilson didn't join the league, even though he created it. but then again, i am not sure it would have benefited us or strengthened the success of the league if we had.

  2. Ok I do agree with you for the most part. As I say it was an epic fail! lol But just to get things straight... I don't think we can blame Woodrow Wilson for the United States not taking part. He created and wanted to support it. But it was more so the United States as a whole as in it's people that did nto want to get involved in it. It wasn't really his fault I mean he wanted to keep his people happy! Who wouldn't?

  3. Right, we can't blame Wilson. In a speech he gave in 1919 he is in fact strongly urging the American people and Congress to reassess their stance on the LoN because he believed it would and could prevent future aggression.
